Aisat Instruments

I have previously worked with business coaches within AISAT and have always found their assistance valuable.  I have been working together with Tracie from TraMac Group for a little over five months now and have already noticed a big difference. Tracie has shown helped me regain my enthusiasm and desire to be in business, shown us how to focus on the right priorities and build discipline into the way we work.

From the first few days that we began working together, Tracie was more interested in researching the inner workings of the company and every part of what we did, who did what, how everything integrated and most importantly where we wanted to go.

All of Tracie’s guidance and advice to myself and to the rest of the team has come from this research. This means we are rebuilding our company from the inside out rather than applying a polish on the surface that may not necessarily have a sound foundation.

Working like this has not always been easy, however from some of the more difficult tasks have come the greatest benefits.

Our biggest achievements over the last few months have been in managing to reduce the fluctuations in our monthly revenue and to slowly build it in a positive direction. Tracie has help us achieve this by guiding us to:

  • Set and monitor the correct Key Performance Indicators – daily, monthly gross profit, value of sales, conversion rate
  • Track our own personal tasks, both activities and results enabling the most important tasks to reach completion
  • Improve the consistency on our team meetings, which in turn has increased everyone’s clarity on their own tasks as well as all team members understanding their responsibility to each other as well as their position. This has also created a more excited and relaxed team.

A great deal of our time together has involved working on the fundamentals of a good business. We are building a great business, so we need to have a strong foundation.

“Tracie worked closely on key projects for me both within the Production function and at a corporate level for three years prior to her departure from Woodside.  This included developing and embedding an assurance management framework, and rolling out an organizational effectiveness initiative across the company. She has a unique ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization, bring the right people together and get the best out of them.  Tracie was highly respected for her honesty, integrity and effectiveness.”

“Having worked with Tracie over a long period and in a variety of roles, I know that she can be relied upon to drive change and deliver results. When I needed help to design and drive an organisational change some years ago, Tracie was the person that I turned to.

Tracie is able to analyse and simplify problems or opportunities in order to focus on the key issues and then identify the best way forward. She looks for strategic fit before focussing on tactical detail, thereby ensuring that she addresses the underlying issues rather than the immediate symptoms. Tracie is able to apply her skills to a variety of situations, from purely technical issues to organisational, business and personal challenges. “

Como PS Logo“As the principal of Como Primary School I have been thrilled to work with Tracie McDougall in her capacity as Chair of the Como Primary School Board over the past eighteen months. Tracie is a clear thinking, highly intelligent and articulate leader who has worked to provide Como Primary School with a Board that is high functioning, relevant and progressive. Tracie, through her dedication and leadership, has developed in the Board a deep understanding of its School Governance responsibilities. She has ensured the Board`s role was integral across a variety of School processes, namely; moving the School to Independent Public School status, driving the Como Primary School Vision, working to provide quality input into future School planning, policy making and School self-review.  Tracie is an inclusive leader preferring to draw people along with her to work harmoniously to achieve excellent outcomes. The Como Primary School Board members come from all walks of life, Tracie possesses a wonderful ability to foster and produce the best in people to achieve common goals.”

Andrew Malcolm, Como Primary School Principal since 2015

It is such a pleasure to work with Tracie on the Board of Como Primary School.  Her leadership as Chairperson has been instrumental in the Board developing as a cohesive, informed, focused, productive and effective group.  I admire Tracie’s work ethic and the attention to detail in reviewing and considering reports from both a financial and information based perspective.  She plans and coordinates meetings and runs them with exact timing – which is a unique talent and is much appreciated by all of us.  Tracie has a keen sense for the mood of the group and allows for light-hearted moments to mingle with the hard decisions that have to be made.  I would have Tracie as Chairperson of any Board I serve on!  She is a great asset with business skills as well as an awareness of self and others.  She makes the job look easy with her dedication and hard work.”

Ingrid Meyer, Deputy Chair, Como Primary School Board since 2012

Tracie and I met in 2009 when she was referred to me by a colleague of hers. One of her goals then was to build the financial stability to then allow her to “give my time and expertise to make a difference to others lives” and for the last 2 years since leaving the salaried corporate role she has been doing that.

Through our work together I have seen the degree of intellectual rigour she applies to everything she tackles. It is however Tracie’s practical experience and the high degree of care and commitment she brings to the table that make her so valuable.

I have engaged Tracie as a coach and strategist for many of our clients and they experience and recount the same values as I see. Tracie is a key member of our external support team and I am pleased to have someone with her degree of integrity and skillset to bring in when needed.

I am aware that Tracie is also exploring opportunities to co invest into businesses requiring her skillset and I would welcome her as a business partner due to her strong integrity and commitment. She is one of those people who has a low BS factor and will only get involved if she knows she can add value, so if she engages with you it will be for the right reasons for both parties.
